Licence Requirements
Requirements for a Private Pilots Licence
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Hold a Class 2 Medical Certificate
- Complete Six Theory Exams
- A minimum of 50 hours flight time comprising of at least
- 15 hours Dual instruction
- 15 hours Solo flight time
- 5 hours Instrument time
Requirements for a Microlight Pilots Licence
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Hold a Medical Certificate issued by your local GP
- Be a member of a Microlight Organisation
- Six Theory Exams
- Novice Licence — Under direct supervision of an instructor
- Intermediate — 25 hours — Can fly to 10 nm from base
- Advanced Local — 40 hours — Can fly to 50 nm from base
- Advanced National — 45 hours — Can fly unlimited distance
- Passenger Rating — 35 hours Pilot in Command
